Infection control has always been a priority in our practice and there are some changes we want to tell you about that we feel are necessary in order to keep our patients and employees safe. Our office follows infection control recommendations made by the American Dental Association, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration. We have been and will continue to monitor the activities of these agencies so that we are up-to-date on any new guidance that may be issued.
IF YOU ARE NOT FEELING WELL OR ARE EXPERIENCING ANY TYPE OF FEVER, PLEASE STAY HOME AND CALL OUR OFFICE TO RESCHEDULE YOUR APPOINTMENT.
The changes you can expect to see at your upcoming appointments are outlined below:
- Arrive ten minutes early for your appointment.Call the office when you arrive. An assistant will meet you at your vehicle.
- You will be asked some screening questions and your temperature will be taken. The assistant will escort the patient into the office.
- Whenever possible we will ask for parents/guardians to wait in the car in order to limit the amount of people in the office
- If you need to accompany your child we ask that you wear a mask
- You may choose to wear a mask until your appointment begins
- Our brushing stations are currently closed so you should brush and thoroughly clean your teeth at home just before your appointment.Patients will rinse with hydrogen peroxide in the office before their appointment.
- We have hand sanitizer for use when you enter and it is available throughout the office
- Our waiting room will no longer offer magazines, toys, coffee and snacks since those items are difficult to disinfect. The Token Reward program is similarly on hold.
- Appointments will be managed to allow for social distancing between patients which could mean fewer options for scheduling appointments
- We will do our best to allow more time between patients, to reduce waiting times for you and to reduce the number of people in the reception area at any one time
We are happy to answer any questions you may have about the steps we are taking to keep our patients, families and employees safe.
