Dr. Basile, who is known by his patients as “Dr. Joe,” was raised in Anchorage, Alaska. He completed his undergraduate studies at Montana State University in Bozeman, where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Sciences. In 1994, he graduated from the University of Minnesota, School of Dentistry with high distinction. He was elected into Omicron Kappa Upsilon, a national honor society, in which membership is awarded to the top ten percent of each graduating dental class. Following dental school, Dr. Basile completed a two year residency program in pediatric dentistry.
After practicing pediatric dentistry for four years in the Twin Cities and Oregon, Dr. Basile decided to return to the University of Minnesota to pursue a second specialty in orthodontics. In 2002, he began practicing exclusively as an orthodontist. Dr. Basile purchased a practice in Prior Lake in 2004 and renamed it Prior lake Orthodontics, PA. In 2006, he purchased a second office in Minnetonka and renamed it Minnetonka Lake Orthodontics, PA. Dr. Basile is a Board Certified Orthodontist and a certified Invisalign® (invisible braces) provider.
Dr. Basile enjoys sports, particularly hockey and football, exercise, reading, watching movies, music and riding his motorcycle. He lives in the Prior Lake/Savage area with his wife, Sarah, who is a dental hygienist, and their daughter, Sophia.
